I was around before the fall. I remember what it was like. I was twenty at the time. Carrie and I had just been married three weeks beforehand. She was great. Always smiling, having fun, staying happy.

Anyway. When the rise came, we fought our way to others that we knew would be good to be with. Eventually, we found our way to this community of survival-types. I’m still not sure why they had all of this equipment before the fall, but hey, it’s a good thing they did. Otherwise, most of us here would have died out in the next couple of weeks.

Well, one day, Carrie and Roger went off on a scavenging trip with some others. Roger was our German Shepherd, by the way. During the trip, a group of bandits captured or killed everyone out there. We would have never know what had happened if Roger hadn’t made it back. The bandits were so bold that they branded him and set him free. He died within minutes of his arrival back at our community. One of the regular hunters in the community recognized the symbol branded on Roger. It seems the hunter had seen it on the other side of town.

A large number of us geared up and headed for the bandits’ hide-out. We arrived at night and hit them hard, real hard. The only folks that made it out of there alive were those of us who walked in that night. Every single bandit was dead in less than an hour. They never saw us coming. Our loved-ones were already dead. The only thing we could do was to make sure that they didn’t come back.

I took care of Carrie, myself. Then, I took care of Roger.

I’ve been a Domesday Warrior ever since.

I don’t do this because I like it. I do it because it is a necessary evil and my extended family trusts me to do it. Next time you’re worried about the zombies getting you, just remember that I’m here, and I will save you…One way or another.

The Domesday Warriors are a self-created class of person. After the rise and during the beginning of the fall, these bold individuals stepped forth from the rank and file of humanity. A small group of friends had got together and formed a pact. A pact wherein they all swore to kill any of their party at the first notice that they had begun to turn. From this small pact of survivors came a recognizable force in dealing with the overthrowing of humanity.

Those individuals chosen to become Domesday Warriors become Zealots of a grande degree. Some have gone so far as to travel into zombie controlled areas, just to lay a brother or sister to rest. Their pistols have become holy symbols of an almost knightly order. They will not use their pistols for any other service that to stop a community member from coming back as a zombie. This has led to the demise of Domesday Warriors in the past.

A Domesday Warrior is selected to go with each and every party that leaves the community. They need to be on-hand, in the event of a zombie attack. Most are skilled fighters with weapons other than their pistols. There is usually one Domesday Warrior per ten "civilians."

Many of these individuals are jaded in severe ways. Most of them survived the fall of humanity. However, more and more individuals that have been born since the rise of the zombies are becoming Domesday Warriors.

Who becomes a Domesday Warrior is handled differently in each community.
